सिवनी/कान्हीवाड़ा। मन में लगन और मजबूत इच्छाशक्ति हो तो कामयाबी जरूर मिलती है। कान्हीवाड़ा में घर-घर जाकर दूध बेचने वाले का 30 वर्षीय बेटा अमेरिका में वैज्ञानिक बना है जिसकी चहुओर प्रशंसा हो रही है।
प्रतिदिन गाय भैंसों की देखभाल करना और सुबह सवेरे 5-6 किलोमीटर तक साइकिल चलाकर घर-घर दूध पहुंचाना, कभी बारिश, कभी कड़ाके की ठंड लेकिन कभी हिम्मत नहीं हारी। खुद तंगी में जिए लेकिन बेटे की पढ़ाई में कोई कमी नहीं आने दी। पिता का परिश्रम और त्याग बेटे कृष्ण कुमार ठाकुर के लिए प्रेरणा बना और आज 30 वर्षीय कृष्ण कुमार ठाकुर अमेरिकन गवर्नमेंट के प्रतिष्ठित संस्थान नेशनल इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ हेल्थ वाशिंगटन में वैज्ञानिक के रूप में चयनित हुए हैं।
यह कहानी है सिवनी जिले के कान्हीवाड़ा उप तहसील मुख्यालय से 3 किलोमीटर दूर स्थित सहजपुरी गांव के एक छोटे से किसान महेश ठाकुर और उनके बेटे कृष्ण कुमार ठाकुर की।
डॉक्टर के. के. ठाकुर ने अपनी हायर सेकेंडरी तक की शिक्षा कान्हीवाड़ा स्थित शासकीय उच्चतर माध्यमिक विद्यालय में की। इस दौरान वह और उनका भाई अजय ठाकुर अपने पिता महेश ठाकुर के साथ घर-घर जाकर दूध बेचने का कार्य करते थे जो इनके परिवार के लिए आय का साधन था। होनहार बेटे को शिक्षा में किसी भी तरह की कमी ना हो इसलिए पिता ने दिन रात मेहनत की। स्कूल की पढ़ाई होते ही डॉ कृष्ण कुमार ठाकुर ने भोपाल से बी फार्मेसी की फिर GPAT की परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण कर NIPER गुवाहाटी से MS की डिग्री हासिल की। कठिन परिश्रम के कारण डॉक्टर के. के. ठाकुर को आईआईटी गुवाहाटी जैसे प्रतिष्ठित संस्थान में Phd में जगह मिल गई। इसके बाद अभी डॉक्टर के.के. ठाकुर का चयन अमेरिका के सरकारी संस्थान नेशनल इंस्टिट्यूट ऑफ हेल्थ वाशिंगटन में हुआ है वह यहां आगे की रिसर्च जारी रखेंगे।
डॉक्टर के के ठाकुर ने अपनी सफलता का श्रेय अपने पिता के परिश्रम और त्याग को दिया है। जो अभी भी परिवार के अन्य सदस्यों के साथ ग्राम सहजपुरी में निवास करते हैं।

This is the story of Mahesh Thakur and his son Krishna Kumar Thakur, a small farmer of Sahajpuri village, located 3 km from Kanhiwada sub tehsil headquarter of Seoni district.
Doctor K. Of. Thakur did his higher secondary education in Government Higher Secondary School, Kanhiwada. During this, he and his brother Ajay Thakur along with their father Mahesh Thakur used to go door-to-door selling milk, which was the source of income for their family. The father worked hard day and night so that the promising son should not lack in education. After completing his schooling, Dr. Krishna Kumar Thakur did B. Pharmacy from Bhopal and then passed the GPAT examination and obtained MS degree from NIPER Guwahati. Due to hard work Dr. Of. Thakur got a place in Ph.D in a reputed institute like IIT Guwahati. After this, now Dr. K.K. Thakur has been selected at the National Institute of Health Washington, a US government institute, and will continue further research here.
Dr. KK Thakur has attributed his success to his father’s hard work and sacrifice. Who still resides in village Sahajpuri along with other family members.
